What is the difference between Placement
Points, Participation Points, Player Rank and Bankroll?
Placement Points
Players receive points based upon their final placement in a
tournament.(1st through 8th Place) and the total number of players in a
tournament determines the final point distribution. (For more details please
see Point Pool above.)
Participation Points
Every one that plays in a Global Poker Federation sanctioned tournament
receives 50 points for their participation regardless of final placement.
Player Rank
The sum of a player's participation points and placement points
determines a player's rank.
Bankroll
When a player participates in a GPF sanctioned tournament, 50 points are
deducted from their bankroll. Each time a player makes the final
table of a tournament (top 8 finishers), placement points are added to
their bankroll in accordance with the above point pool schedule. A
player's bankroll is at the current time strictly for informational purposes.
GPF reserves the right to utilize bankroll standings as criteria to determine
participation in future invitational tournaments or eligibility to purchase certain
merchandise.
